Ramp for early customers

Note: This article primarily applies to Ramp Administrators. Cardholders may find other articles in the Ramp overview section to be more applicable.

Overview

Early Ramp customers - those who applied for Ramp or had an existing account before September 19, 2023 - received complimentary access to all Ramp Plus features through a 1-year trial ending in September 2024. At the end of that trial period, early customers could choose to upgrade to Ramp Plus or be automatically reverted back to the set of Ramp Plus features available before the trial, at no cost.

How it works

If you chose not to continue with Ramp Plus when the complimentary trial ended, your account was reverted to the features you previously had before the trial started. You were not charged, and no features outside your original plan were retained.

What do I get as an early customer?

As an early customer, you had full access to all Ramp Plus features through September 2024. Ramp Plus provides enhanced controls, advanced automation, and deeper integrations designed to support more complex finance operations.

When the trial ended:

You could choose to upgrade to Ramp Plus and keep all advanced features.
If you did not upgrade, your account was reverted to your pre-trial feature set at no cost.

Ramp did not automatically upgrade or charge customers without consent.

Which features were included in Ramp Plus, and which remained free after the trial?

Ramp continues to invest in the free platform, and many core features remain available at no cost. Early customers had temporary access to all Ramp Plus features until September 2024. After the trial, only certain features continued to remain available for free if they had been activated prior to the trial ending. See our full feature list here.

What happens to my existing workflows if I do not upgrade to Ramp Plus?

Workflows and configurations created during the trial remain functional, but cannot be edited or expanded without upgrading to Ramp Plus. To make changes to existing workflows that use Plus features or to access new Plus features, you’ll need to upgrade to Ramp Plus.

Delegate approvers	✅ Available	Any non-Guest user who can serve as an approver in Ramp, including standard roles such as Employee, Manager, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Admin, Finance Admin, IT Admin, Owner, and View-Only Admin, can continue to be assigned as delegate approvers at no additional cost.
Accounting
NetSuite integration	⚠️ Limited	NetSuite direct integration, including multi-entity functionality, will continue to function at no additional cost for customers who had the integration set up prior to September 2023. Adding or reactivating this integration after that date will require an upgrade to Ramp Plus.
Sage integration	⚠️ Limited	Sage Intacct direct integration, including multi-entity functionality, will continue to function at no additional cost for customers who had the integration set up prior to September 2023. Adding or reactivating this integration after that date will require an upgrade to Ramp Plus.
Microsoft Dynamics Business Central integration	⛔ Not available	Access to the Microsoft Dynamics Business Central direct integration will be lost after the trial ends. Any current accounting rules, suggested coding, or conditional filtering will also be removed. CSV can be used to continue syncing transaction data.
Acumatica integration	⛔ Not available	Access to the Acumatica direct integration will be lost after the trial ends. Any current accounting rules, suggested coding, or conditional filtering will also be removed. CSV can be used to continue syncing transaction data.

Custom forms for spend programs	⚠️ Limited	Existing spend programs with Plus features can continue to be spent against. Admins can also delete these existing programs. Editing existing or creating new spend programs with Plus features will not be possible after trial ends.
Custom spend request approval policy rules for spend programs	⚠️ Limited	Existing spend programs with custom spend request approval policy rules can continue to be spent against. Admins can also delete these existing programs. Editing existing or creating new programs with custom rules will not be possible after trial ends. All transaction approval policy rules will continue to function.
Advanced policy rules	⚠️ Limited	All existing advanced policy rules will continue to function. Customers will be able to delete any policy rules post downgrade. Customers will not be able to edit existing policy rules or create new policy rules with Plus features.
Travel

International
Card limits and spend programs in non-USD	✅ Available	Card limits and spend programs in non-USD will continue to function after your trial ends, at no additional cost.
International Cashback	⛔ Not available	International transactions will no longer earn cashback.
User Management
HRIS continuous sync	✅ Available	HRIS continuous sync will continue to function after your trial ends, at no additional cost.
Workday integration	✅ Available	Workday integration will continue to function after your trial ends, at no additional cost.
Guest role	✅ Available	Guest roles will continue to function after your trial ends, at no additional cost.
IT Admin and Auditor roles	⚠️ Limited	Any IT Admin or Auditor roles will remain as is. Customers can change IT Admin or Auditor roles to other non-Plus roles (e.g. Admin, Manager, Accounting). Customers will not be able to assign new users to IT Admin or Auditor roles.

What happens if I upgrade to Ramp Plus, but decide to downgrade in the future?

If you upgrade to Ramp Plus but later decide to downgrade, you will return to Ramp’s basic free tier. This means features like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Advanced Accounting rules, and others, which you currently have free access to as an early customer, will require a Ramp Plus subscription to continue using.
