Ramp for early customers
Note: This article primarily applies to Ramp Administrators. Cardholders may find other articles in the Ramp overview section to be more applicable.
Overview
Early Ramp customers - those who applied for Ramp or had an existing account before September 19, 2023 - received complimentary access to all Ramp Plus features through a 1-year trial ending in September 2024. At the end of that trial period, early customers could choose to upgrade to Ramp Plus or be automatically reverted back to the set of Ramp Plus features available before the trial, at no cost.
How it works
If you chose not to continue with Ramp Plus when the complimentary trial ended, your account was reverted to the features you previously had before the trial started. You were not charged, and no features outside your original plan were retained.

What do I get as an early customer?
As an early customer, you had full access to all Ramp Plus features through September 2024. Ramp Plus provides enhanced controls, advanced automation, and deeper integrations designed to support more complex finance operations.
When the trial ended:
- You could choose to upgrade to Ramp Plus and keep all advanced features.
- If you did not upgrade, your account was reverted to your pre-trial feature set at no cost.
Ramp did not automatically upgrade or charge customers without consent.
Which features were included in Ramp Plus, and which remained free after the trial?
Ramp continues to invest in the free platform, and many core features remain available at no cost. Early customers had temporary access to all Ramp Plus features until September 2024. What happens to my existing workflows if I do not upgrade to Ramp Plus?
Workflows and configurations created during the trial remain functional, but cannot be edited or expanded without upgrading to Ramp Plus. To make changes to existing workflows that use Plus features or to access new Plus features, you’ll need to upgrade to Ramp Plus.

What happens if I upgrade to Ramp Plus, but decide to downgrade in the future?
If you upgrade to Ramp Plus but later decide to downgrade, you will return to Ramp’s basic free tier. This means features like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Advanced Accounting rules, and others, which you currently have free access to as an early customer, will require a Ramp Plus subscription to continue using.
