Overview
Ramp employees can use their cards and funds with any of the millions of merchants that accept Visa worldwide and online.
How it works
There are many ways you can use or access your card and funds information:
- If you have a physical card and multiple funds, we encourage using your physical card and auto-matching to have Ramp automatically match your transaction to the correct funds.
- Funds will not have a virtual card number by default unless you do not have a physical card.
- If you manage several online subscriptions for your team, we encourage having separate virtual cards for your subscriptions.
- To view your physical card details, log in on the web or Mobile App → click on card to access card details
- Monitor your funds limits to know how much you have left to spend.
- Ramp physical cards work with Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- You may add your card details to your mobile wallet through the mobile app.
- If you want to use your funds with mobile wallet, we encourage still using your physical card in mobile wallet and having Ramp auto-match to your funds.
- If you have been invited to Ramp with a physical card, it will arrive in 7-10 business days after you create your account. While you wait for your physical card to arrive, you'll have access to the virtual version of your physical card. In the interim, this virtual card will have a separate card number from your physical card number.
- Before transacting with your physical card, please make sure that you have funds that can spend from a physical card.
Once invited to Ramp, you can start spending immediately if your account already has a card. If it does not, check with your manager or finance team to see if you will be issued one.

Will my Ramp card work internationally?
Yes, Ramp cards work in most countries outside of the United States, including Canada, Mexico, and countries in Europe. Please take a look at this article for more information.
What's the difference between funds, virtual cards, and physical cards?
A physical card is a card you can carry in your wallet in person. Funds are allocations of money that you can spend on behalf of your company. Virtual cards are a type of funds that can only be accessed digitally. Both virtual and physical cards have card numbers you can use online or in a digital wallet like Apple or Google Pay. Funds do not have card numbers by default since they're meant to be spent from your physical card. For a physical card to function, you must have funds. The physical card itself doesn't have any money. Without funds, transactions on a physical card will be declined due to a lack of spend ability. Please take a look at this article for more information.
Why are the last four digits on my receipt different from the last four digits displayed in Ramp?
This is likely tied to these charges paid using Mobile Pay (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Wallet, etc.). With Apple Pay, for example, the last 4 digits listed for Apple Pay transactions are the last four digits of the device-specific Device Account Number in place of the credit card number. This is a known security feature for this wallet.
I've already activated my card. Why did my physical card get declined?
If your physical card doesn't have any funds to spend from, it will immediately decline because it doesn't have any money on its own.
