Ramp mobile app
Overview
Ramp mobile puts finance automation in your pocket. Complete onboarding in the iOS app or through mobile web on Android. Pay for expenses easily with your corporate cards and funds always at your fingertips. Submit expense reports and reimbursements on the go by taking a picture of your receipt and adding a memo. Ramp can then match it to a transaction. Plus, with simplified visibility, you’ll always have the information you need on expense policies, completed transactions, or spend requests.
Downloading the mobile app
You may download the iOS app from the App Store in any country here and the Android app from the Google Play Store in any country here. Ramp does not offer a native desktop app — to use Ramp on a computer, see Use Ramp on your desktop.
Onboarding onto Ramp via the mobile app
On iOS, users can complete Ramp onboarding in the app. On Android, users complete onboarding through mobile web. If you cannot complete onboarding in the app, sign in to Ramp on the web to continue.
This process may include the following steps:
- Accept the invitation to join Ramp (email)
- Create account
- Confirm any funds issued (if applicable)
- Enter address (if receiving a physical card)
- Review and sign the Expense Policy
- Verify your phone number, if prompted
Passkey setup and management are available only on the web version of Ramp.
Using the mobile app as an employee
- Activate your physical card by entering the last 4 digits of the card
- Request spend, including the ability to request a physical card
- View procurement request status, including the approval chain and workflow progression. See mobile procurement actions for submitting or approving requests. Direct purchase-order creation and management require the Ramp web app.
- Link your personal bank account for reimbursement
- Submit expense requirements (receipts, memos, accounting fields, admin accounting fields, etc.)
- On supported iPhones, connect your camera roll to automatically match receipts.
- Capture and submit receipts through the in-app camera or upload via the share extension. Attach receipts immediately or save them for later to match a transaction or create a reimbursement.
- After you capture a receipt, you can upload it immediately or save it for later. To view recently matched receipts, open Saved receipts from the home camera. When creating a reimbursement, open Saved receipts to choose a saved receipt to attach.
- If you take a receipt photo while offline, Ramp does not automatically upload it later when your connection returns. Once you're back online, open Saved receipts and retry the upload. For more details, see Submitting receipts, memos, and accounting for your Ramp transactions.
- Tap a receipt thumbnail to open it in the receipt viewer. On iOS, if receipt verification fails, the app identifies which details did not match. If the receipt was also used for another expense, the app may show links to those expenses separately.
- Submit reimbursements for out-of-pocket spending and location-based domestic and international mileage
- Live GPS mileage tracking. Trips less than 30 seconds or shorter than 500 meters will be discarded.
- There is no defined timeout for this feature, and it can be used for long trips. However, very long idle periods may allow the phone’s operating system to stop background activity.
- When using the GPS mileage tracker, if you haven’t moved for about 15 minutes during an active trip, Ramp shows a notification asking if you’re still driving and offers to end the trip. You can keep the trip running as the notification is informational.
- Deducting commute on mobile
- Live GPS mileage tracking. Trips less than 30 seconds or shorter than 500 meters will be discarded.
- View cards and funds details, request spending limit changes, and lock cards
- Book business travel
- You can view past or current bookings and requests, as well as create trips and track expenses relating to specific trips
- Add a card to Apple or Google Wallet
- View transactions, repay accidental personal charges, request policy exceptions, flag incorrect merchant info, add attendees to meals, add to a trip, split transactions for accounting, dispute transactions, and request spending limit changes.
- Switch easily between Ramp accounts if you have multiple instances

Frequently asked questions
What do I do if I'm having issues with the app?
-
Double-check to see if you are using the latest version of the app. Ramp ships software updates frequently.
-
If you see a blank web page, allow cookies in the mobile browser settings. If you are on iOS, Safari content blockers also need to be disabled in iOS Settings - Safari - Content blockers.
-
If you continue to see a blank screen and are using a work device, there may be a Mobile Device Management (MDM) restriction enforced by your IT department (see iOS , Google references). These restrictions, using proxies, VPNs, and other kinds of device profiles, could all be causing a "blank screen" on sign-in. You may need to check that the Ramp Mobile app is approved for use and properly configured by their Admin/IT team.
Can I download a desktop app for Ramp?
- No. Ramp does not offer a native desktop app for Mac or Windows. See Use Ramp on your desktop for how to access Ramp on a computer.
Can I approve bills in the app?
- Yes. Any bills that are currently pending your approval will appear in the mobile inbox manager (supported on iOS and Android). See our article Bill Pay approvals to learn more.
Can I create or request a purchase order in the mobile app?
- Direct purchase-order creation and management are not available in the mobile app; use Manage spend > Purchase orders in the Ramp web app. Eligible users can submit procurement requests in the mobile app. Depending on the Program and workflow, an approved request can create a purchase order. Eligible approvers can approve or reject submitted requests in the mobile app or from Requests > Needs action on the web. These actions appear only for requests awaiting your approval. You can also view request status, including the approval chain and workflow progression, on mobile. See Purchase orders in Ramp for details.
Can I split transactions and reimbursements in the mobile app?
- Yes. Mobile reimbursement split actions appear only after submission. See Splitting transactions or reimbursements for eligibility requirements and platform-specific steps.
Can I access and manage my Ramp Checking Account in the mobile app?
- Yes, if you have Ramp Banking access. Business Owners and Business Admins can view balances and accounts, move money, access account details and documents, review transfer history and statements, and deposit checks from the mobile app. For more details, see Using the mobile app as a manager or admin.
