Travel notices for Ramp cards
Overview
Ramp cards do not require a travel notice. Your card works in most countries without any advance notification to Ramp.
Ramp does not have a travel notification feature and none is needed. You can use your Ramp card internationally without contacting Ramp or changing any settings before you travel.
How international transactions work
Ramp uses real-time fraud monitoring instead of travel notices. If a transaction is flagged as potentially fraudulent, Ramp temporarily locks the card and sends an SMS to the phone number linked to your account. You can clear the fraud flag by replying "Yes" to the SMS or by signing in to your Ramp account and manually unlocking your card. Once unlocked, retry the purchase.
Ramp cards do not support transactions from certain sanctioned countries, including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, and Ukraine (including the Crimean region). These restrictions are enforced at the card network level and cannot be changed by setting a travel notice or contacting Ramp.
For more details on international card usage, including currency conversion and the globe icon on transactions, see Will my Ramp card work internationally?.
Frequently asked questions
What should I do if my card is declined while traveling?
If the decline was caused by a fraud flag, you can clear it by replying "Yes" to the SMS from Ramp or by signing in to your Ramp account and manually unlocking your card. Once unlocked, retry the transaction. If the decline was for a different reason, see Transaction declines for troubleshooting steps.
Will I be charged fees for international transactions?
International transactions that clear in a currency other than USD may be subject to a currency conversion markup. See Foreign transaction fees for details.
