Personal Card Reimbursements
Overview
Personal Card Reimbursements is currently rolling out to select businesses. If you do not see this feature in Ramp, your business may not have access yet.
Personal Card Reimbursements lets employees connect a personal credit card to Ramp via Plaid and create reimbursement drafts from imported personal card transactions. Ramp pre-fills the merchant, amount, and date so employees can submit faster and reviewers can better verify that the expense came from a real card transaction.
Your company must have reimbursements enabled before you can use this feature.
In Ramp, you may see this workflow described by labels such as Personal credit card, Connect card, Import via personal card, and Personal Card Transactions.
How it works
- Go to Banking and use the Personal credit card section to click Connect card , then follow the prompts on the screen to connect your card.
- Return to your homepage and click New > Reimbursement to open the personal card feed.
- Choose one or more transactions from feed to create reimbursement drafts, or select I didn't use this card if your reimbursement was on a different card.
- Review the pre-filled merchant, amount, and date, then add any other fields your company requires.
- Submit the reimbursement through the normal reimbursement flow.
For general reimbursement requirements, payment setup, and payout timing, see Submitting reimbursements and How to add / change personal bank account details.
Privacy and visibility
- Your personal card transactions can be used to create reimbursements and are only visible to you unless you choose to submit a reimbursement from them.
- Admins, managers, and assistants cannot browse or review your personal card transaction feed.
- Personal card transactions are excluded from logging and impersonation access.
What reviewers see
- When you submit a reimbursement created from a personal card transaction, reviewers see the label Imported via personal card .
- This helps reviewers verify that the expense is tied to a real card transaction while still following the normal reimbursement approval flow.
- Reviewers do not get access to the rest of your personal card transaction feed.
For more on approval actions after submission, see Reviewing reimbursements.
