Organize and share work in Glass spaces

Overview

Early Access. For access information, see Request access to Glass.

Use a Glass space for ongoing work: keep its brief, references, and reusable instructions together, and share it with the people who need them. For a first task, start with Get started with Glass.

Create a Glass space for ongoing work

In Glass, use a space you can work in or ask Glass to help create one for the workstream. Add a brief with its goal, decisions, sources, open questions, and next task. Keep company-wide guidance in Company context.

Check the audience before adding sensitive material: even a restricted chat can inform shared space context. If you cannot create or work in the space, continue in a chat you can use and ask the space owner to review your access.

Save and pin references in a Glass space

Review the material before adding it. Files saved to a space follow that space's access, not just the audience of the chat that created them. Check who can read Glass chats and files before saving sensitive sources.

Save and reuse instructions in a Glass space

Bring written instructions you already use, such as a research checklist or writing guide. Review them and remove sensitive information before sharing.

  1. In a space chat in Glass, ask Glass to save the reviewed instructions as a Markdown space file with a clear name and a description of when to use it.
  2. For a future task, ask Glass to read the file and use its instructions.
  3. Review results and refine the instructions as your work evolves.

Teammates with access to the space can read and reuse the saved instructions, too. If you are adapting an existing assistant's skills, follow Reuse skills and instructions in Glass.

Share a Glass space with teammates

Before inviting collaborators, review who can access the space and which connected accounts it can use. Personal connections are not automatically available to every shared space.

Follow the teammate-sharing steps to invite people and choose their access. Space invitations do not grant Glass product access. If you cannot share the space, ask its owner to review your permissions. To change or remove a teammate's access later, use the member-access guide.

Use Slack with a Glass space

Connect personal Slack: Use personal Plugins when a task needs your Slack access. This does not install the company Glass app. To message the app, follow Message Glass in Slack.

Link a channel: In a space chat, ask Glass to link the intended channel. You need permission to edit the space, and Glass needs access to the channel. Public channels require an Everyone space; a private Slack channel does not make the Glass space private. For private channels, invite the bot and check its membership.

Review the space's audience and connected accounts before linking. If the app or access is missing, ask your Glass admin to review setup and keep working in Glass.
