How to delete an entity on Ramp
Overview
Available on Ramp Plus. See Ramp Plus overview for plan details.
Admins can delete an unused non-primary entity. Ramp does not currently offer a customer-facing option to archive an entity. Before deleting one, review the restrictions below and move or close any records that Ramp permits you to change.
Delete an unused entity
The Delete action is available only to Admins who can manage business entities and only when the entity meets all deletion requirements.
- Open Entities settings.
- Select the entity.
- Open Entity details.
- Under Danger zone, select Delete and confirm.
Important: Deleting an entity removes it from Ramp and cannot be undone from customer settings.
Resolve entity deletion blockers
Ramp disables deletion when the entity is:
- The primary or initial entity.
- Linked to cards, locations, users, reimbursements, or transactions.
- Linked to spend requests, Spend Limits, active banking accounts, or Bill Pay activity.
- Associated with an outstanding credit balance, unpaid statement payment, or required verification or card-issuing record.
Some active dependencies can be resolved before you retry:
- Users: Edit each user's profile to assign a location associated with another entity.
- Ramp Checking Accounts: Move payment activity and balances, then close the account.
- Unpaid statements: Pay the outstanding card statement.
Primary and initial entities cannot be deleted. Historical cards, transactions, reimbursements, Bill Pay activity, and required verification records must also be retained and cannot be removed solely to delete an entity. If Delete remains unavailable after you resolve the active dependencies above, contact Ramp Support to confirm whether the entity can be removed.
