Overview
Ramp makes it easy to issue cards and funds to employees with specific controls. Funds are unique in that the physical card must spend from funds; the physical card does not have any money by itself. Each physical card is automatically issued with funds. You may choose to issue multiple instances of funds. Virtual cards are issued for online purchases, such as for subscriptions. They are not used with your physical card.
How to issue a card or funds
For employees already on Ramp, Admins or Managers can issue cards in the following ways:
- Click on the Funds and cards tab on your dashboard and select Issue Spend at the top right side of the page.
- Select from the type of spending you want to issue: funds for general expenses, a virtual card for online spend, a specific vendor card (Product or Service), or a physical card.
- From here, you can also select who the spend is for, dollar amount limits, merchant & category restrictions.
- Please Note: For physical cards, you will be prompted to select an option between inputting an address on behalf of the cardholder or sending cardholders a notification to enter their shipping address. Cardholders can then enter their address from their My Ramp dashboard.
