Connect Ramp to Okta
Go to Vendors > Seat Intelligence to connect your Okta account. You must be an Admin, IT Admin, or Bookkeeper to access this feature.
- Create a new service account by going to Okta > Directory > People > Add person.
- Go to Security > Administrators. Click + Add administrator.
- Select the service account that you created. Under role, choose Read-only Administrator.
- Log in as the newly created Administrator account. Go to Security > API tokens. Click create API key.
- Name your token and click create token. Input your token value in the Ramp screen.
- Lastly, provide your Okta URL.
We only use this API token to query when users log in to Okta apps and for no other purposes.
After you click Connect to Okta, our system will fetch information to visualize usage data in the Ramp dashboard. This may take up to 2 hours, please circle back later to see your information.
View app usage data
- We calculate "Active seats" by looking at the last date the user signed in via Okta. If they have used the app in the past 30 days, we'll count the user as active.
- You can view all of your Okta apps with more than 30% utilization. If it's lower than this threshold, the app may not require re-authentication with Okta.
- Click on the individual app to see the list of active and inactive users and their last sign-in date. You can also export this data into CSV.
- During the import, we'll match Okta apps with the Vendors that you have on Ramp. We'll pull in the spend information so you can identify potential cost savings. You can always update the mapping to Ramp Vendors by clicking on each app.
Please send any feedback using this form. We're continuing to make improvements to this feature to make it more useful for your team to identify unused software spend.
