Navan integration: Set up in Ramp

Overview

Note: This article primarily applies to Ramp Administrators. If you can't access the Navan integration settings or don't see Connect integration, ask a Ramp Admin to connect Navan for you.

Use the Navan integration to connect Navan to Ramp from your Navan integration settings. During setup, Ramp asks for your Navan Client ID and Secret Key, and lets you choose the sync options you want to use.

Connect the Navan integration

Before you start, confirm that you can access Ramp's Navan integration settings and use Connect integration. If you can't, ask a Ramp Admin to complete the setup in Ramp.

You also need your Navan Client ID and Secret Key. In Navan, go to Admin > Travel admin > Settings > Integrations. In the Navan API Credentials section, click Create New to generate your credentials, then copy the Client ID and Secret Key.

If Ramp cannot verify those credentials, re-enter them and try again.

  1. Open your Navan integration settings.
  2. Click Connect integration.
  3. Enter your Client ID and Secret Key.
  4. Select Attach receipts to matched transactions if you want Ramp to pull Navan receipts and attach them to matched transactions without email forwarding.
  5. Select Create trips from TMC itineraries if you want Ramp to create trips from Navan itinerary data.
  6. Click Connect.

Configure Navan mappings

After you connect Navan, return to your Navan integration settings and use the Tracking Category Mappings tab to configure accounting field mappings and the Memo Mappings tab to customize memos with data from Navan booking fields. The Memo Mappings tab concatenates fields in the order you add them.

You need an active Navan connection before you can configure either mapping tab.

Manage your Navan connection

You can have only one active Navan integration at a time. If you need to connect a different Navan account, delete the active integration first, then reconnect from your Navan integration settings.

Deleting the integration removes the connection and stops syncing travel data until you reconnect.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I configure mappings yet?

Ramp shows the mapping tabs only after you have an active Navan connection. If you are not connected yet, connect Navan first from your Navan integration settings.

How do I know whether Ramp is receiving data from Navan?

On the connected Navan Integration pane, Ramp shows either Last payload with the most recent sync time or No payloads received.
