Create and manage Glass automations

Overview

Early Access. For access information, see Request access to Glass.

Use a Glass automation to repeat a tested task on a schedule. Creation activates scheduling, so review the task, access, and delivery instructions before asking Glass to create it.

Prepare a Glass task before scheduling it

Test the task in an ordinary chat in Glass, keeping the result there for review. Check the sources and refine the result before creating a schedule. A draft-only prompt does not restrict a connected account's permissions; review Glass access boundaries.

Ask Glass to propose instructions and a schedule without creating it yet. Review:

If you are replacing a schedule from another tool, follow the migration cutover steps before creating the Glass version.

Create and review a Glass automation

When ready, ask Glass to create the automation in the intended personal or shared space. Creation activates scheduling, so finish your review first.

Open the space's Automations tab in Glass. Check Instructions, Schedule, and the next run. Make sure required accounts are available in that space, not only connected personally. Missing connections or approvals can block unattended work; resolve those before relying on the schedule.

Edit a Glass automation

Open the automation from the space's Automations tab in Glass. If you are correcting a problematic automation, select Pause first. If editing is unavailable, ask the space owner to review your access.

Wait for each editor to close, then review the displayed instructions and schedule. If an editor stays open, finish incomplete fields or resolve any validation or save error, then select Done again before resuming.

Check Glass automation run history

After a run, open Run history and inspect the actual chat output and requested delivery, not status alone. Check that the result uses the intended sources and reaches the intended destination.

If output or a run chat is missing, check errors and account access before retrying to avoid duplicate sends. Ask the account owner to review missing access. Pause and edit problematic automations before resuming.

Pause or resume a Glass automation

Open the automation from the space's Automations tab in Glass.

Paused schedules must be resumed before they can run. If account access or approvals are still missing, address those first rather than relying on resuming to fix them.

Run a Glass automation manually

Run now is real execution, not a dry run: it can send messages or make changes. Use an ordinary chat for draft-only review first. Paused schedules must be resumed before they can run.

Before using Run now, check whether an earlier run already completed the task or delivered its result. Afterward, inspect run history and actual output before retrying.
