Bank account confirmation

Customers can request ACH details to be confirmed by their vendors before sending payment. Vendors can confirm payment account details for their customers in two ways:

  1. Automatically via bank connection - connecting their bank account to automatically import and share their payment details
  2. Manually with micro-deposits - entering their account and routing number manually, and confirming that micro-deposits were successful.

How do I confirm my account with a bank connection?

You can link your bank account to confirm your payment account details with your customer. See more details about account linking here.

How do I confirm my account manually?

To confirm your account manually, add your bank details manually and Ramp will perform a debit check verification on the account details you provide with micro deposits.

What’s the debit check process?

The debit check process will send two small deposits less than $1 and one withdrawal (equal to the sum of the deposits) to your bank account. After settlement (usually takes 2-4 business days), you'll receive an email to 'Finish verifying your bank account to allow businesses to pay you'. To complete the process, click on 'Verify Bank Account' and enter the two deposit amounts that you see in your bank account. Once confirmed, you will be able to share this bank account with any customers who are requesting confirmed payment account information.

If bank account verification fails, you'll receive an email asking you to update your ACH information.

How long does it take?

It can take up to four business days from when you initiate a debit check to when the transfer settles to verify your account(s).

What happens after my account is confirmed?

The customer is notified that your payment details have been provided, and they will see a green checkmark on payment details that were verified.

Debit blocks

If your bank account has a debit block or debit filter to prevent unauthorized debits/withdrawals from your account, payments on Ramp may get declined.

How do I lift a debit block from my account?

To make sure your bank lets us debit your bank account, please contact your banking representative and request to whitelist Ramps Originator IDs (also called ACH IDs).
