Transferring Ramp cards and funds

Overview

Ramp makes it easy for admins to transfer cards and funds between employees or for admins and managers to take control of cards and funds when employees leave the company. This ensures that all critical business expenses on Ramp cards are never declined and that the transaction or vendor relationship owner has visibility into the spend.

How it works

If you are an admin and wish to transfer the ownership of a virtual card or funds, you may follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Funds & cards .
2. Select the card or funds you wish to transfer.
3. Click Actions > Edit .
4. Select the Owner field and choose who the new owner will be.

• Note: As a manager, you can only transfer the cards and funds of someone and to someone that you manage. As an admin, you can change the owner of anyone's card or funds. When transferring a card or funds, a new card number (PAN) will be generated.

Admins and managers both have the option to transfer virtual cards and funds when terminating an employee. It is important to note that Physical cards cannot be transferred for security purposes. For this reason, we recommend putting all recurring transactions on Ramp virtual cards.
