Ramp Self-Directed Investment Account Overview

Note: This article primarily applies to Ramp Administrators and Owners.

Overview

Ramp no longer offers Self-Directed Investment Accounts and is closing all remaining accounts. These accounts invested in FUGXX, a money market fund that invests in short-term U.S. Treasury obligations and government securities.

Self-Directed Investment Account closure

No action required for account closure. Ramp will close all remaining Self-Directed Investment Accounts on August 4, 2026. Ramp will notify you about the closure.

Liquidation. Any remaining funds will be liquidated and transferred to your Ramp Checking Account. The liquidation will not result in fees, gains, or losses.

Outstanding dividends. Outstanding dividends will be paid into your Ramp Checking Account by the end of August 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Can I access statements after my account closes?

Yes. Your Self-Directed Investment Account statements will remain available in Documents under Banking.

Will I receive tax documents after my account closes?

Yes. You will receive any applicable tax documents next year.

What happens to automations that used my Self-Directed Investment Account?

If you migrated to a Managed Investment Account, Ramp updated your automation funding source during migration. Otherwise, go to Automations and update the automation to use a different funding source.

Can I still open a Managed Investment Account?

Yes. You can open a Managed Investment Account and deposit funds into it. See Ramp Managed Investment Account overview for setup instructions and account details.
