As an admin
If you are the owner or admin of your company's Ramp account, you can adjust any card or funds that has been created for your team. You can change the limit, lock it temporarily, or set an auto-lock on it.
Here's how:
- On the homepage, click the "Funds & Cards" tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click the employee whose card or funds you want to edit. This will open their profile on the right-hand side of the page.
- Click the card or funds you want to edit. You can click Actions > Lock to lock it immediately, or you can click Actions > Edit at the bottom of the page to adjust the spending limit or auto-lock it.
- Enter the amount and set the frequency
- Click save changes
As an employee
If you need a higher spending limit on your Ramp card or funds, you can head to your profile and find the relevant card or funds you wish to add more money to. Then:
- Click on the card for funds, click Action → Edit
- Enter the details you wish to change. You can enter an updated amount, category, merchant restrictions, etc. → Save Changes → Enter the reason for the increased or decreased limit (your approver will read this reason) → Request Changes.
- Your manager or admin will then approve the request or provide you with reasoning as to why they cannot approve it.
Frequently Asked Questions:
-
I changed my employee's card or funds spend limit frequency to "Total." Why are their card or funds still being declined?
- Please note that changing a spending limit to "Total" is a one-time update that will display the lifetime spending on the card or funds. If you want to adjust how often the limit resets, you can select a frequency of daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. After making this change, the card or funds will show the available spending based on the chosen frequency.
