Foreign transaction fees
Overview
Ramp may charge transaction fees on certain transactions. Below are examples of when these fees can occur.
- SWIFT payment network - When sending US Dollars to a bank account outside the United States via the SWIFT payment network, your bill payment may have an associated transaction fee. ( Platform Agreement )
- International bill payments and reimbursements - Ramp may include a margin on foreign exchange. ( Payment Card Addendum )
- International card transactions - When the original transaction currency differs from your statement currency, the charge undergoes a currency conversion. Ramp typically includes a margin on the exchange rate selected by the issuer or card network. This margin will not exceed 3%. To identify the statement currency, open the transaction from Expenses and check the currency on the Statement amount line. Only users with permission to view the business's financial accounts see this line; if it does not appear, ask your Ramp Admin to confirm the statement currency. ( Payment Card Addendum )
