Finish before activating your card
You must complete the following to successfully activate your card:
- Finish onboarding to Ramp: you must complete creating your Ramp account and any additional verifications needed
- Phone number added to Ramp account: to activate a card via SMS, your Ramp account must be set up with a phone number, and you must use that phone number for the SMS activation
How to activate your physical card
Method 1: Activation through Ramp.com
- Once you receive your physical card in the mail, log in to your Ramp account at Ramp.com.
- In your dashboard, locate the physical card icon and click on it to begin the activation process.
- You'll be prompted to enter the last 4 digits of your new card.
- After entering the last 4 digits, click "Activate" to complete the process.
- If the activation is successful, you'll receive a confirmation text.
- The card will be marked as "Active" in your dashboard, and your card will be ready to use right away.
Method 2: Activation via SMS
- If you have already added your phone number to your Ramp account, you can activate your card through SMS.
- Text the last 4 digits of your card number to 447267 if you are in the US or (844) 331-1023 if you are international.
- Make sure to use the phone number registered to your Ramp account for this activation.
- If the activation is successful, you'll receive a confirmation text.
- The card will be marked as "Active" in your dashboard, and your card will be ready to use right away.
Method 3: Activation via mobile app
- Download Ramp's iOS app from the App Store or Android app from the Google Play store.
- In your dashboard, locate the physical card icon and click on "Activate" to begin the activation process.
- You'll be prompted to enter the last 4 digits of your new card to complete the activation.
- Pull down the screen to see a refreshed page with your activated card.
- Your card is now ready for use.

How long do I have to activate my Ramp card?
- You have 6 months to activate your card
- Cards not activated within 6 months are automatically terminated by Ramp
Can I (Admin / Business owner / Card manager / Delegate) activate a card on someone's behalf?
- No, only the owner of the card can activate the card
- This is due to security reasons to prevent fraud
What if I switched companies and my phone number is attached to my old Ramp account?
- Please contact support, we'll help you remove your phone number from your old account and add it to your new account
