June 2024 Update: Deprecation of bookmark SAML login
Although Ramp never supported IdP-initiated logins, it supported a comparable login flow where users could configure a “bookmark URL” (a.k.a “sign on URL”). The URL could log in a user via redirects when a user opened a customized https://app.ramp.com/sign-in/saml/<Unique ID>
sign-on domain, simulating an IdP-initiated login.
This login flow has been deprecated as of mid-June 2024. In early 2024, browsers like Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge updated default settings in a way that removed Ramp’s ability to launch the login flow on a bookmark app without user interaction. These changes in default browser behavior caused instability to the flow. Going forward, users must click the Sign in button when using the deprecated “bookmark” SAML login flow.
