Overview
The difference between CAD physical cards and USD physical cards is that CAD cards have a PIN. This PIN is a 4-digit code that some merchants may ask for when making a transaction. It is an extra layer of security.

How do I access my PIN?
The card's PIN is available within your Ramp account card view on both web and mobile. To find the card's PIN:
- Click on the physical card to reveal the card number, expiration date, and CVV
- The PIN is located next to CVV, boxed in red below

Can I change the PIN of my card?
- No, you cannot change the PIN. PINs are randomly generated by Ramp, and stored directly with our issuing partner as part of Payment Card Industry compliance. A CAD card will have the same PIN throughout its lifetime.
What happens if they enter the wrong PIN?
- Users have 3 tries to enter the PIN. If they fail to enter the PIN correctly on the third attempt, the chip on the card will lock and Ramp will automatically re-issue them a new card with a new number and PIN
Why do these cards have PINs?
- PINs are common for non-USD-denominated credit cards. It adds an extra layer of protection.
Do CAD virtual cards have PINs?
- No, only CAD physical cards have PINS.
What if my CAD physical card does not have a PIN?
- In rare instances, Ramp may fail to auto-generate the PIN for the card
- You can set the PIN at the POS system at the first swipe of the physical card
- The POS will prompt you to set a PIN
- Our issuing partner will receive this PIN from the network, and share it with Ramp moving forward
