Glass Desktop versions and updates
Keep Glass Desktop on the latest stable release to receive current desktop fixes and native app improvements. As of October 22, 2026, the latest stable Mac release is 0.9.3, released October 19, 2026.

Check your installed version
Open Glass → About Glass in your Mac's application menu to see the installed desktop version. This is the Glass menu in your Mac's menu bar, not the menu opened from Glass's small menu-bar icon.
How automatic updates work
Glass checks for desktop updates when it starts and periodically while it is running. Available updates download in the background and normally install when you quit the app. Closing the window does not quit Glass. To quit, choose Glass → Quit Glass or press Command-Q, then reopen Glass.
Most improvements to Glass arrive through the hosted web app without changing the installed desktop version number. Desktop releases update native app behavior, compatibility, and reliability. Your company settings and product rollout can also affect feature availability.
Check for an update now
- Open Glass → Check for Updates….
- If an update is available, wait while the menu item reads Downloading Update….
- When it changes to Restart to Update to X.Y.Z, select it to finish installing.
If you already have the current release, Glass shows Glass is up to date. If an in-app notice says an update is ready, choose Restart to update. Some updates are required before you can continue using the desktop app.
