For the best experience, keep Glass Desktop and macOS up to date, and install the latest macOS updates available for your Mac. An internet connection is required to use Glass.

Check your Mac's operating system

  1. Open the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your screen.
  2. Select About This Mac.
  3. Find the macOS name and version number. Glass Desktop requires macOS 13 or later.

The same window identifies your Mac's chip or processor. Glass Desktop supports both Apple silicon and Intel processors, so you do not need to choose a separate download for your processor.

If your operating system isn't supported

If your Mac is running macOS 12 or earlier, upgrade to macOS 13 or later before installing Glass Desktop, if your Mac supports it. If you cannot upgrade, or you use Windows, Linux, or ChromeOS, you can access Glass in your web browser instead of installing the desktop app.
