Enabling Plaid's Pay by Bank for Ramp Checking Account

With Ramp >< Plaid integration, Ramp Checking Account now appears as a selectable financial institution in any app or checkout experience that supports Pay by Bank (e.g., Shopify, Venmo).

Set up in Ramp

For ACH transfers, your primary account's debit settings must be enabled to "All debits allowed" for this feature to work.

  1. Click Account details
  2. Set the setting to "All debits allowed"
  3. Edit by clicking the three dots on the right-hand side
  4. Update the drop downs to "All debits allowed"

You will receive the error "Account not currently supported" if the above settings are not enabled.

Once this is set up, you can search and choose Ramp from the list of banks and pay vendors directly using funds from their Ramp Checking Account(s) or receive funds. This works similarly to paying via Chase or BoA on websites offering “Pay with Plaid.”

Benefits of pay by bank with Plaid

For any vendor leveraging Plaid linking, paying and receiving funds via Ramp Checking Account is now simpler and safer as they do not need to input any specific account details. For example, your Ramp Checking Account can now support receiving and sending money via Venmo and Shopify, or any instance where Plaid is used.
